types of warts on the skin

Certain types of human papillomavirus, penetrating through damaged areas of the skin, cause rapid growth of cells in its upper layer. As a result, warts form. The types of warts can vary. They form anywhere on the skin and can vary greatly in size and color. Usually, warts do not cause significant problems, they go away on their own. However, in some cases, it is worthwhile to consult a doctor and remove them.

The types of warts on the body are usually distinguished according to their place of distribution.

Types of warts

  • Vulgar (public)
  • Sole,
  • Flat (youthful),
  • Genital warts (genital warts)
  • Nematode,
  • Elderly (seborrheic keratomas).

Common warts

Vaginal or common - this is the most common type of these tumors. They are small nodules (up to 10 mm) with a rough surface. They protrude very slightly above the surface of the skin and are completely painless. Common warts form on any part of the body, but are most commonly found on the neck, head, elbows or knees.

Another feature of common warts is the appearance next to the "main", large, smaller warts.

Plantar

This is one of the varieties of common warts, also called "Spitz". It is located on the skin of the foot, most often on the side of the sole. It consists of many nipples, fused together, surrounded by a cylinder. Sometimes Spitz looks like a thick thorn growing on the skin. Sometimes plantar warts can develop inside the skin. They then look like a pit surrounded by a cylinder with protruding nipples. Plantar warts often cause discomfort to a person because they cause discomfort and even pain when walking.

Their formation can be caused by tight or uncomfortable shoes. In such shoes, areas of the skin are damaged and become more vulnerable to the penetration and growth of the human papillomavirus.

Apartment

Flat warts are more common at a young age, in children and adolescents, and are therefore called juvenile. These are small formations (usually about 3 mm). They can be round or irregular. The surface of juvenile warts is smooth and flat. The color is usually the same as that of the skin, sometimes flat warts may have a yellowish tinge. This type of wart can form anywhere on the skin, but their "favorite" spots are the face and hands.

Flat warts usually do not cause physical discomfort and disappear over time. However, when placed in conspicuous places, they cause aesthetic discomfort, so patients often turn to doctors and cosmetologists to remove them.

Genital warts

Such warts are located in the genital area and the infection occurs through sexual contact. The most common spread of genital warts is the groin, penis, lips and anus. Also, these types of warts can form in the mouth.

Genital warts are small skin growths with a sharp tip, small nipples. These nipples merge with each other and often look like cauliflower. The color of genital warts is dark pink.

The treatment of genital warts is performed by dermatologists with the participation of a gynecologist or urologist.

Nematode

Filamentous warts are more common in older people. They are elongated thread-like growths. The size of the filamentous warts can be up to 1 cm. The location of the wart is the skin of the neck and face. Most often, lips are formed on the eyelids. There are filamentous warts on the armpits.

The warts are often injured due to their elongated shape. By themselves, in most cases, they do not subside, moreover, after removal, there are often recurrences with the formation of new warts in the same places.

Senile

Seborrheic keratomas are more likely to develop in old age due to skin changes. They are found anywhere on the body, but more often in the neck, arms, chest. These are small flat bumps with clear boundaries. Aging warts are most often yellow-pink or brown in color, their size is up to 2 cm. They can be single and can form entire foci. Dead skin cells are the basis of such tumors. At first they are soft, but over time they become dense, covered with cracks.

Aging warts require special care, as they tend to malignant metamorphosis.

Thus, there are different types of warts. Most of them are safe, but it is better, without delay, to consult a doctor and make sure of it.
